The 2010 Florida Building Code will be implemented in March 15, 2012. This design guide is a prescriptive design method which, by Florida Statute 489.113(9), does not require the involvement of a professional engineer in order to design one of the structures covered by the guide. - Attached patio covers or carports;
- Free-standing patio covers or carports;
- Railing systems; AND,
- Secondary covers (sometimes known as roof-overs) for mobile homes;
- Wood framed utility sheds (with aluminum roofs).

The electronic package is produced (and available) as one electronic file. It is available for download from the AAF website. This electronic file is encrypted and must be unlocked for use. After the file has been unlocked and authenticated (using an internet connection), the 2010 AAF Guide and the tables for 2012 and beyond (packaged into one file) can be printed from the computer having the file. An internet connection will not be needed once the file has been authenticated, however, be advised that it will only be available from that computer. If a company or building department requires multiple electronic copies, additional unlock keys can be purchased for $75 per each. WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED:Hard-copies, i.e. printed and bound versions.
