2007 AAF Construction Guide Approved

After a series of meetings with engineers and contractors from all areas of the State, and following the 45-day public comment period, the AAF Technical Committee has completed an updated revision of the 2004 edition of the Guide to Aluminum Construction in High Wind Areas.

The current edition (2004) is still the recognized prescriptive document for use under the current Code and will remain so until the implementation of the 2007 Florida Building Code unless your local jurisdiction will allow you to use the updated Guide before then(it is our understanding that many building departments now recognize the later edition, but you should ask them specifically prior to submitting paperwork based upon the 2007 edition). The 2007 edition will replace the previous (current) edition when the building code is updated to the 2007 edition.

The 2007 edition of the AAF Guide to Construction in High Wind Areas has been approved by the Florida Building Commission and is listed as part of the 2007 Building Code. This book is the only prescriptive document approved by the Florida Building Commission that may be used by contractors working in the aluminum industry.
